LoginThe first thing you must consider is your walk with the Lord. Do you have a hunger and thirst for God and His Word? Memorize verses with specific promises and encouragement. Read Christian biographies to see how others have served the Lord in many places and in many difficult circumstances. Study the example of Christ that we have in Philippians 2 and John 13 and see Him serving others. Be willing to mingle with all different types of individuals in the church. Learn their names. Be willing to spend time with them, have them over to your home, and use your gift s among them. Show them that you love them and desire their love in return. They in turn will open up their hearts to the pastor and his family.

I shared my experience as a single woman pastor and how single clergy can feel isolated in a church culture where marriage is the default. It was the first time since university that I had an honest, direct, public conversation about singleness in the church. We hear countless sermons about marriage, but singleness is not often addressed publicly in Christian communities. When I do talk about my experiences as a single woman, I usually talk among my friends, not in my church.
When you are dating one of the leaders of the Church or any organization for that matter , people will be looking at you. Is this a bad thing? But if you let it affect your relationship, it can be. Understand that, yes, people are going to be curious about who the pastor is dating.
