Wealthy plastic surgeon Gong Ki Tae is a successful and happy bachelor who does not want to find himself a wife. He believes that his life is perfectly planned, and being single is the only option he accept. However, his family is badgering him to marry. In an effort to get his parents off his back about the constant string of blind dates and marriage prospects, Ki Tae purposely brings Joo Jang Mi home to meet his parents posing as his girlfriend, certain that they'll never approve of her. Jang-mi plans a proposal to her boyfriend, Hoon-dong, but he goes incognito; Gi-tae, a man who wants to avoid marriage at all costs, is under a huge pressure from his parents; Hoon-dong asks Gi-tae to get rid of Jang-mi for him. Gi-tae's mother threatens that she will take away the house from him if he does not bring a girl home to marry; Gi-tae panics and suggests Jang-mi pretend to be his girlfriend. Gi-tae starts pretend dating to be left alone, but with Jang-mi in his life, things never quiet down; Jang-mi barges in on Gi-tae's house late at night with Gi-tae's grandmother. Bong-hyang senses that Gi-tae is lying, and asks Jang-mi to help out at Gi-tae's family's ceremonial dinner to test her; Jang-mi witnesses an embarrassing secret of Gi-tae's family. Jang-mi and Gi-tae get closer during the fake date, but Jang-mi secretly goes on a date with Yeo-reum at Hoon-dong's shop; that night, Jang-mi faces a storm of sorrow. Jang-mi falls in shock after she sees Yeo-reum receive money from Se-ah; when Jang-mi takes care of drunk Gi-tae, she discovers the real tragic reason why he wants to be alone; Gi-tae decides that he will tell the truth.
