Finding My Fish in the Sea: Online Dating With Cerebral Palsy
My name is Jess Paciello, and I am 21 years old. I guess that makes me a millennial yikes! I do want to talk about dating with disabilities though, because I believe that this topic is super important. Discussing dating with disabilities is important, because often society views the disabled population as inferior and almost non-existent. This absurd idea is completely false. As someone with cerebral palsy myself, I think I hopefully can try to tackle this subject with some first hand experience! It personally took me a long time to admit to myself that I had CP, and then accept my body for all that it is. One of the biggest pieces of advices I can give to those of you who want to begin dating is please make sure you are ready to!
If you currently have CP, then perhaps you need a bit of advice on how you can effectively and kindly enforce boundaries and communicate with your partner. But doing all of this research can also cause you to see your partner as, first and foremost, someone who has a disability. You should feel free to ask me any questions you like as we continue to see each other because I am the ultimate authority on the uniqueness of my condition.
If you have cerebral palsy and want to find a partner, you might feel nervous about how others will perceive you. Cerebral palsy dating is not hopeless, but it may require some creativity. People with cerebral palsy can have fun dating just like anyone else, but they may need some extra support along the way. People with cerebral palsy can experience dating just like anyone else, as long as they communicate their needs and preferences with their dates. By utilizing a dating app, people can easily explore potential matches and message them whenever they want.

Three years ago, I had a very abstract view on love. I was born with a neurological disorder called cerebral palsy. It greatly affects my ability to talk and walk. Therefore, I struggled with having guys underestimate me.
