Dating a person who is recovering from drug or alcohol use requires some awareness. There is a stigma attached to the disease of addiction, but many people recover and find ways to live a sober life. Often, a well-intentioned friend or family member trying to force the situation can end up making it worse. Outline their options for treatment and encourage them to seek help.
